1.17 deraadt 16: It is easy to donate money to OpenBSD using direct bank transfers using
17: the following information:

1.17 deraadt 45: If the transfer process has a comment field, give the name you want
46: to see listed on our Donations page and
47: perhaps mail Theo a gentle reminder to notice it. Please note that
1.18 deraadt 48: these transfers are strictly donations -- the project does not like
49: transactions which appear to be in exchange for advertising via links.
1.1 deraadt 50:

1.16 deraadt 51: These various bank transfer systems can have various transaction fees. In
52: general with the new IBAN system there should be no or minimal costs when
53: the transfer is made between two banks which are in the European Community.
54: If there is such an option, you should select 'share both costs' as that
55: will put you into the 'EUR 0.00 charge' catagory. Sometimes if you select
56: 'charge all costs to sender' (or receiver), they do charge outrageous costs.
57: This is plain wrong as all transactions should be charged at the same cost as
58: a national transfer, as per 01-06-2003. You should complain if they do this.
1.1 deraadt 59:

1.16 deraadt 60: Choose to use the IBAN system over the SWIFT system, as SWIFT is more expensive.
1.10 ian 61: As well, note that Greek banks are notorious for charging costs at the
1.2 pvalchev 62: expense of customers... For example, Eurobank charges EUR 5 for
1.1 deraadt 63: outgoing transfers and EUR 3 for incoming ones...
