1.17 deraadt 17: It is easy to donate money to OpenBSD using direct bank transfers using
18: the following information:

1.17 deraadt 38: If the transfer process has a comment field, give the name you want
39: to see listed on our Donations page and
40: perhaps mail Theo a gentle reminder to notice it. Please note that
1.18 deraadt 41: these transfers are strictly donations -- the project does not like
42: transactions which appear to be in exchange for advertising via links.
1.1 deraadt 43:

1.22 reyk 44: These bank transfer systems can have various transaction fees.
45: In general with the new IBAN system there should be no or minimal
46: costs when the transfer is made between two banks which are in the
47: European Community or the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA).
1.16 deraadt 48: If there is such an option, you should select 'share both costs' as that
49: will put you into the 'EUR 0.00 charge' catagory. Sometimes if you select
50: 'charge all costs to sender' (or receiver), they do charge outrageous costs.
51: This is plain wrong as all transactions should be charged at the same cost as
52: a national transfer, as per 01-06-2003. You should complain if they do this.
1.1 deraadt 53:

1.16 deraadt 54: Choose to use the IBAN system over the SWIFT system, as SWIFT is more expensive.
1.10 ian 55: As well, note that Greek banks are notorious for charging costs at the
1.2 pvalchev 56: expense of customers... For example, Eurobank charges EUR 5 for
1.1 deraadt 57: outgoing transfers and EUR 3 for incoming ones...
