NEED_VERSION relates to the version in the $OpenBSD tag of

NEED_VERSION is obsolete and should not be used in new ports.

<tt>$(PORTSDIR)/infrastructure/mk/bsd.port.mk</tt>: e.g.

As you are a port developer, you are supposed to update

<tt>$OpenBSD: bsd.port.mk,v 1.287 ...</tt> would get

your ports tree, including bsd.port.mk.

<tt>NEED_VERSION=1.287</tt> in your Makefile.

The fool-proof and right way is to choose the most recent version you can

find. As you are a port developer, you are supposed to update

your ports, including bsd.port.mk.
