1.8 drahn 42: The OpenBSD/pegasos port was started early 2003 when
43: Genesi contacted
1.14 drahn 44: Dale Rahn to port OpenBSD to their newly released motherboard.
1.15 xsa 45: After several months of hiatus, with the release of the Pegasos II pending,
1.14 drahn 46: Dale Rahn was hired by Genesi to revive the port.
1.1 drahn 47:
1.9 miod 48:

49: Pegasos II support was added early 2004.
50:
1.14 drahn 51:

52: The bulk of the work on the pegasos port was performed by Dale Rahn, this work
53: was terminated at the end of Feburary 2004 due to lack of payment on the part
54: of Genesi.
55: They claimed to have used up all of the company funding and were over 3 months
56: behind in payment, 'We will get a big contract/sale any day'.
57: At that point it was no longer possible for the developer to live without
58: payment, so he stopped active work on pegasos and searched for other employment.
1.1 drahn 59:
60:

1.14 drahn 61: A few weeks later a second batch of Pegasos II boards were due to be shipped,
62: with a new version of firmware.
63: After some convincing, a version of the new firmware was finally acquired.
64: This new firmware would not boot OpenBSD.
65:
1.8 drahn 66:

1.14 drahn 67: bPlan, who builds the boards and writes the Open Firmware, was contacted.
68: While they responded to the initial inquiry, they never resolved the booting
69: issue.
70: In fact, all further emails to Genesi and bPlan over the next few weeks were
71: ignored.
1.1 drahn 72:
73:

1.14 drahn 74: At that point the hardware was released, with no additional information,
1.15 xsa 75: it was presumed that the new Pegasos II boards would not boot OpenBSD.
1.1 drahn 76:
77:

1.14 drahn 78: Finally, due to the inability to work with bPlan/Genesi and the
79: fact they owed the developer over 3 months pay,
80: it was announced that pegasos support would be dropped.
81: The code was not removed until later because it was too close to OpenBSD 3.5
82: release and would disrupt that process.

93: Both Pegasos I and Pegasos II boards were supported.
94: However, the Pegasos II gigabit networking interface was not supported,
95: documentation was never made available.

97:

1.15 xsa 98: The boards could be used with either VGA (AGP or PCI) graphics console,
99: or with a serial console. The latter can be selected whether a VGA card is
