Worldwide (to everywhere) (but see also Western Europe below)
The main place for ordering CDROMs is via the Computer Shop of Calgary (the oldest continuously operating computer store in the world). You can make a purchase in the following ways:

Telephone ordering:
To order by phone, dial 1 (403) 243-4356. Please phone during weekdays, during the daytime, in North American Mountain Time. (Occasionally service is available after hours: 5PM-9PM weeknights and 10AM-9PM weekends. You can give it a try.) Have your Mastercard, VISA, or American Express ready.

If you need to contact the Computer Shop directly, email to Austin Hook. Major Institutions can fax purchase orders to the Computer Shop at 1 (403) 243-2684 (FAX).

Postage will vary depending on your location relative to the shipping address. Regular First Class or Airmail post will be used unless special arrangements are made. Note that regular postal service is not a trackable service (you knew that, right?), and shipping is FOB our depot. Say "please insure" in the comments, if you want postal insurance.

Items lost in the regular mail are at your risk and expense, but we only charge cost of materials to replace them, so paying the $10 (or even $30 outside of North America!) additional postage and insurance (partly due to having to change to an insurable class of mailing) costs more than normal postage and replacement of a CD ROM set at cost of materials (go figure!).

Less than 1% of items go missing in the mail; it might be yours, yet paying for postal insurance is an expensive gamble. But if you absolutely can't stand risk, do insure by all means. In North America consider specifying Express Mail (trackable), or a courier like FEDEX (also trackable).

Note that shipping cost for a CD set is therefore expected to be around $3 - $5 USD (yes, that is in addition to the base $30 USD price). Packages will generally be mailed from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. (Some US orders are mailed from a US depot -- but unlikely at initial release time). Typical airmail postage rates for quantity 1 are roughly:

• Canada $3 CDN. Expect 7 days.
• USA $3 USD ($4 CDN). Expect 7 - 10 days.
• World $4 USD ($5 CDN). Expect two weeks.

A new service, previously not available, but for Canada and USA only, is Express Post, with 4 day delivery, up to $50 insurance included, and trackability from Canadapost This is now an new option on the web order form.

For a single CD set:

• Canada $7. Expect 3 - 4 days.
• USA $10. Expect 4 - 5 days.

If you want your CD to come very quickly, you can choose Fedex or UPS overnight. Note, that for single CD's it is cheaper to get overnight delivery than to get 2 or 3 day delivery! If you choose overnight, you very likely do NOT want to use the Internet web ordering system, but rather want to order your package by phoning the Computer Shop phone number (403 243-4356). By phoning before 3PM Mountain Time, you can usually have it by early the next morning!

If you are ordering the CD plus other items, consider having only the CD sent by overnight and other things by regular airmail or express post. CD's are relatively inexpensive to send by courier (we class them as documents), whereas T-shirts, and especially posters, are quite expensive that way.

For Canada, and USA only, you may specify "use credit card" in the box where it says courier account number. In that case we will pass on your credit card number to the courier company. You will get a separate debit from them (for the shipping portion only). But we prefer if you do have a courier account number already. If requesting shipping to a company address, ask if they have one that can be used (or phone FEDEX or UPS and ask what it is).

Typical Fedex or UPS priority shipping rates for quantity 1 are roughly:

• Canada $13.00 CDN. Overnight if phoned in before 3PM MST.
• USA $18.50 USD ($26.50 CDN). Overnight (to most cities) if phoned in before 3PM MST.
• World $36 USD ($55.00 CDN) -- 2 to 4 day service. Must have courier account #. If necessary, apply for one or, otherwise, use insured AIR MAIL post for the closest equivalent.
