[OpenBSD]

Donations

OpenBSD has no major sponsors -- the project's infancy was funded by a large cash donation from Theo de Raadt (i.e., "savings"). Those funds have since dried up, and currently the project is funded by CD and tshirt sales, as well as generous donations made by various people. (For more information...)

While donations are not US tax deductable as charible contribution, they may be deductable as an operating expense, and if someone is so inclined, they should ask for the advice of their accountant. The same applies to other countries, where corporations can make deductable donations under the terms of "Good Will".

We have a list of hardware that we would like to see donated to the project. We would appreciate if it people would look through the list and compare it to personal or corporate junk piles. Amongst other reasons, the list exists so that project members can own devices that should be supported, so that future releases ship with better device driver support.

The following people and organizations (listed in chronological order) have contributed money, equipment, or services to the OpenBSD project.

We would also like to thank everyone who has purchased an OpenBSD CDROM. These sales fund the project and keep it alive. Buy one for a friend if you can!

If you have donated to the project and are not in the above list, please send mail to www@openbsd.org.
