The OpenBSD project produces a freely available, multi-platform
4.4BSD-based UNIX-like operating system. Our efforts place emphasis
on portability, standardization, correctness,
security, and
cryptography.
OpenBSD supports binary emulation
of most programs from SVR4 (Solaris), FreeBSD, Linux, BSDI, SunOS, and HPUX.
The current release of OpenBSD is 2.2,
available as of
December 4 1997. This inexpensive 2-CD set containing
support for 9 architectures will boot on i386, sparc, alpha, and arc.
To order...
The release of OpenBSD 2.3 is planned for June 1998. For
this release to become available on CD, project funds is still a big issue.
Every 2.2 CD that is sold makes it easier for us to make a new release.
